We’ve all heard someone say they’re in their comfort zone, but what does that really mean?
In reality it means they are actually uncomfortable because they are too scared to improve their situation to where they really want to be.
No one does anything extrodinary by being in their comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to step out and make a mistake or two on the way when building your home business.

We’ve all heard the saying ’safe as houses’ and that investing in real estate is always good over the long term.
As towns and cities grow real estate is always in demand and provides a lucrative opportunity for savvy real estate investors.
But what about the other real estate? The one with no bricks. No carpet. No tenants.
The most exclusive pieces of this other real estate sell for hundreds of millions of dollars.
You can own your own piece of this virtual real estate for just a few dollars. The only tools you’ll need to develop it is your computer.
I’m talking about domains and their web sites. The online real estate.
There are two main options online, just like normal real estate. You can either build or buy.
There is a wealth of knowledge out there on building site, and the possibilities are endless. However less talked about is the option of buying existing sites.
If your time is at a premium this can be a better route, as websites often trade at very attractive multiples of earnings. But more than that, the price you pay is often a fraction of what your time would be worth to build that site. Let someone else do the grunt work setting it up and doing the basic SEO and promotion then take it over to monetize it fully and take it to the next level.
The Sitepoint marketplace is one widely used place to buy and sell websites. It’s important to because of scammers however. It always advisable to use a 3rd party payment service like escrow so you can verify the site’s income and other claims before finalising the payment.

When I started this blog the original premise was just to blog about topics to do with internet marketing and network marketing. While there is plenty of blogs out there that tell I did have in the back of my head the idea of covering more topics for the more tech savy webpreneur.
Anyone looking to make a full-time income online or with more tech skills they like to put to use will often have to get into the nuts and bolts of building and updating their income producing and traffic generating websites. I hope to post some helpfull tips on developing and maintaining your online presence.
Personally I have a very strong technical background, building software for banks and telco’s. While building and tweaking this site and others isn’t quite as mission critical, it’s still critical to developing the passive incomes myself and my team are aiming for. And hopefully the posts will help yor on your way to building your passive income.

Yet another paid networking site has popped up recently at wowzza.com, which is similar to direct matches. While reading about their fees and payment plan it got me thinking about the difference between legitimate network marketing and pyramid schemes.
Legitimate network marketing companies have a physical product or a valuable service, like a mobile phone plan, where the representatives would buy the product or service regardless if they were a rep or not… Continue reading ‘Is Wowzza a scam?’

In the online world an aspect of marketing that is heavily promoted is the idea of You Inc or Attraction Marketing.
The premise is that you market yourself as a self-proclaimed guru who is going to be able to help your prospects achieve their goals.
And how do you help them achieve success? By teaching them to market themself as a guru.
We’ve all seen the pitches like
“Failing at MLM? You need this secret formula for success.” or
“What your upline will never tell you”
The problem with this is that it doesn’t always duplicate. Not everyone wants to become an expert in marketing and web 2.0 to be able to teach all that to next person.

I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who is about to travel overseas for a year. He told me has had just got all his working visa’s for the countries he was staying in.
I had just given him our propecting dvd’s earlier and said to him you don’t need a visa to do this business.
With the right network marketing company you are not selling products directly, but referring customers to buy directly from your company, and earning comissions from those sales.
The second aspect to the business is training new people who want to start their own small business. Again you’re not setting up shop but enabling others to build their business.
Travel opportunities has always been one benefit of network marketing, but people probably think of traveling to somewhere you already have a team. The other alternative is while your traveling to a new area is to try and start a new branch of your organisation there. Also this way any travel back to that area to do training for your team can be written off on tax.
Having your network marketing company is like having your own multi-national business. Treat it as such and you can enjoy the freedom that brings for a long time to come.

We’re all busy, aren’t we? Between day jobs, studying, family, extra jobs, cooking, cleaning, hobbies and hopfully some relaxation we have a pretty full schedule.
When I was living with my brother we would hardly see each other. When I would come home from work I would usually be straight out the door for the evenings activities.
Yet even with everything I did, I still managed to start a new business and grow it.
So where did I find the time to do it?
I simply made the time. No one controls how you want to spend your time except you. It’s simply a matter of priorities. If you really want something then you will make time for it.
It’s not just what you spend your time on either. It’s how you spend it. Are you productive with your time, or just busy being busy? We live in an age of information overload, and attention is at a premium. Assess wether you really need to spend all that time browsing the net and watching TV. Will you be better off putting some of your hobbies on hold so you can invest the initial time and and reap the rewards for a long time.
It doesn’t take a lot of time if you are productive to make some steady progess with a home business. Set aside some time regularly each day. Keep a master list of things to do, and what the next step is for each task. Then when you are using your allocated time, use if efficiently by selecting some items from your master todo list and work on those. If you don’t complete a task, write down what step you need to take next to complete it so later on you don’t waste time wondering where you were with it.
Your time and attention are two of the most valuable commodities you have. Use them effectively and you will be on the path to success.

The Iroquois Indians were very forward looking in any decision they made. When they had to decide on something they would try to anticipate the impact of their decisions seven generations into the future.
This wise thinking is very applicable to those in network marketing. It’s easy to get caught up in what you can do and how it will affect your business, but thinking this is failing to achieve the mindset required for real long-term success in network marketing.
True residual income is about creating a system that duplicates. The decisions you make for you system will affect how people in your downline 7 generations deep will grow their business, if you get that deep at all.
Remembering this following principle will help you attain the residual income you set out to achieve.
“It’s not what you can do, but what everyone can do”

You might not use the word reciprocity every day, but it has a simple meaning that can be used as a very powerfull tool. It is one of the most common and basic norms of human culture and psychology.
A simple way to put it is that you feel obliged to repay when you are given something. You may be given something physical, like a free sample, or a service. However the giver might ask for something quite different in return.
Reciprocity is one of the key principles of influence, or persuasion, as written by Robert Cialdini in ‘Influence: Science and Practice’. In his book he discusses six basic social and psychological principles that are the basis for successful strategies used to achieve influence.
