The truth about being in your ‘comfort zone’

June 3rd, 2008

We’ve all heard someone say they’re in their comfort zone, but what does that really mean?

In reality it means they are actually uncomfortable because they are too scared to improve their situation to where they really want to be.

No one does anything extrodinary by being in their comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to step out and make a mistake or two on the way when building your home business.

The Tycoon’s 10 Point Credo

April 22nd, 2008

A tycoon is:

  1. Organised: I will schedule a written program of my activities and objectives and stick to it the entire day.
  2. Dedicated: I will do at least one thing I should have done, but have been putting off.
  3. Confident: I will feel as good as possible and achieve a sense of well-being by meditating 15 minutes every day. I will exercise or jog for another 15 minutes.
  4. Appreciative: I will tell my family, friends and business associates “I like you” and mean it. I will be generous with praise and complements.
  5. Optimistic: I will not dwell on past failures but will think positively about the present and the future.
  6. Educated: I will read something to improve my mind each day and will keep away from non-productive and time consuming people and activities.
  7. Thrifty: I will not be a consumer or taxpayer any more than is absolutely necessary.
  8. Sociable: I will be charming and agreeable to everyone and speak badly of no one.
  9. Alert: I will be open to new ideas, experiences and people who might teach me something new. I will not let myself fall into a rut or routine.
  10. Dependable: I will meet all my business, social and moral obligations punctually, honestly, and honorably.

Finding the time

April 7th, 2008

We’re all busy, aren’t we? Between day jobs, studying, family, extra jobs, cooking, cleaning, hobbies and hopfully some relaxation we have a pretty full schedule.

When I was living with my brother we would hardly see each other. When I would come home from work I would usually be straight out the door for the evenings activities.

Yet even with everything I did, I still managed to start a new business and grow it.

So where did I find the time to do it?

I simply made the time. No one controls how you want to spend your time except you. It’s simply a matter of priorities. If you really want something then you will make time for it.

It’s not just what you spend your time on either. It’s how you spend it. Are you productive with your time, or just busy being busy? We live in an age of information overload, and attention is at a premium. Assess wether you really need to spend all that time browsing the net and watching TV. Will you be better off putting some of your hobbies on hold so you can invest the initial time and and reap the rewards for a long time.

It doesn’t take a lot of time if you are productive to make some steady progess with a home business. Set aside some time regularly each day. Keep a master list of things to do, and what the next step is for each task. Then when you are using your allocated time, use if efficiently by selecting some items from your master todo list and work on those. If you don’t complete a task, write down what step you need to take next to complete it so later on you don’t waste time wondering where you were with it.

Your time and attention are two of the most valuable commodities you have. Use them effectively and you will be on the path to success.

Can you spend time to save time?

March 11th, 2008

Sometimes people ask me how I achieved some of things I have. Or how I know about certain subject areas.

They seem to think its a particular action I’ve done or skill I have. A big step. But in reality it’s none of these. The real reason is quite simple.

Are Credibility Issues Preventing Your Success?

February 6th, 2008

Most People that start a network marketing business are excited about a new venture and the possibilities that lie ahead. Then all of a sudden they realize that they will be judged by their friends, family and coworkers because of their past failures. Oh, this can be crippling for a new person because their “loved” ones laugh and mock the latest venture. Don’t get swayed or discouraged by them. Stick to your guns! For the people that fall into this mindset about their lack of credibility all you have to do is pickup the phone and call your upline. Use them and their credibility to ease your pain. Put prospects and new people on 3 way calls with your upline. Use conference calls to plug them in because this will help leverage your time. Finally, Take action and assume responsibility for your success!
