We’re all busy, aren’t we? Between day jobs, studying, family, extra jobs, cooking, cleaning, hobbies and hopfully some relaxation we have a pretty full schedule.
When I was living with my brother we would hardly see each other. When I would come home from work I would usually be straight out the door for the evenings activities.
Yet even with everything I did, I still managed to start a new business and grow it.
So where did I find the time to do it?
I simply made the time. No one controls how you want to spend your time except you. It’s simply a matter of priorities. If you really want something then you will make time for it.
It’s not just what you spend your time on either. It’s how you spend it. Are you productive with your time, or just busy being busy? We live in an age of information overload, and attention is at a premium. Assess wether you really need to spend all that time browsing the net and watching TV. Will you be better off putting some of your hobbies on hold so you can invest the initial time and and reap the rewards for a long time.
It doesn’t take a lot of time if you are productive to make some steady progess with a home business. Set aside some time regularly each day. Keep a master list of things to do, and what the next step is for each task. Then when you are using your allocated time, use if efficiently by selecting some items from your master todo list and work on those. If you don’t complete a task, write down what step you need to take next to complete it so later on you don’t waste time wondering where you were with it.
Your time and attention are two of the most valuable commodities you have. Use them effectively and you will be on the path to success.
