5 Tips To MLM Success

May 29th, 2009

How do you reach that seemingly elusive level of success in MLM? Read on for some simple tips on how to get there …..

1. Realize the importance of a mentor – It is so important, especially just starting out to have someone who has done what you are trying to do. They assist you with listing your goals and reaching them. They can answer questions you don’t have the answers to. Amongst a great many other advantages.

2. Increase visability – You want to get your name out there. Show people your character. You need to stand out by building your brand name. Which is YOU.

3. Communicate effectively – You want to speak in a way that most people will understand you. Talk the way your customers talk. Be clear and know what you are talking about. Be Bold.

4. Balance home / work – Understand that even if you are working from your home office that each day you should set aside time to work on ‘work’ only. Get a business line and a house line. During ‘business hours’ answer your business line only. And have your family call you on your cell phone if there is an emergency. Learn how to be time efficient if you aren’t already. This will free up some of your much needed time.

5. Take Smart Risks.- Just because there is a risk that you may not WIN doesn’t mean that you won’t. Women have a gut instinct that is second to none. Their other senses run on overdrive which is why they get that gut feeling. Go with it. It’s ok to be nervous but nothing was ever gained by doing nothing beside, you guessed it “NOTHING”

7 Ways to Keep Your Dreams Alive

May 27th, 2009

Are you wondering how to keep your dreams alive? Do you want to succeed and realize your dreams but you are struggling? Here are 7 ways you can keep your dreams alive and see them become a reality.

1. Write them down. If your dreams aren’t written down then how can you expect to see them in reality. Be specific and clear. Write down how you will accomplish your dreams. You must have a plan and your plan must be specific, detailed and clear.

2. Make a dream book. Include photos and pictures from magazines, newspapers, the internet etc. and visualize your dreams. Look at the book often.

3. Record yourself telling yourself what your dreams are on a cassette or cd. Listen to this daily.

4. Share your dreams only with those who are supportive. If someone is negative or unsupportive of your dreams then don’t share them with this person.

5. Realize that sometime your dreams will need to be adjusted or they will happen but not according to your timeline. Sometimes circumstances exist which are out of your control. Accept these as a fact of line and continue to dream.

6. Read and learn about others who have accomplished their dreams. What did they do to get where they are? What can you learn from them? If you know someone who has done what you want to do, talk to that person about how they accomplished their dream.

7. Go to the library or bookstore and get some books on accomplishing your dreams and which are written by those who have been successful and achieved their dreams.

Now that you have read this take action. Do something now. What will you do TODAY to begin realizing your dreams?

Well, I think I will have to read this a few more times, think about it for a few days, and analyze the validity of what was said. Then I will think about taking action after I think about getting around to actually writing the goals down.

Of course with this type of attitude one will never get anywhere and is in inertia from analysis paralysis.

Decide NOW! Do it NOW! Then build on it with productive and positive ACTION!

Persistence vs Fine Tuning …. Your MLM Experience

April 17th, 2009

I’m not sure this question has one right answer, but I’m really interested in people’s opinions (which I’m sure are going to vary from person to person).

I was reading an inspirational article today about the value of persistence and just keeping on going – even when the going gets hard (especially when the going gets hard). If you just keep at it, the article suggests, eventually, you’ll have success. It quotes the famous parable of the butterfly having to force itself out of the cocoon to squeeze the excess moisture from its wings – otherwise, if it’s made easy for them, they never develop the strength to fly.

Fair enough – I’m not going to argue that persistence is a virtue – but when does persistence turn into a refusal to accept reality? If you’re not getting the results you want, at what point do you finally conclude that the definition of insanity really is keeping on doing what you’ve always done and expecting something different to what you’ve always got? How long do you give something to work before you start tinkering with it – tweaking and fine-tuning it to see if that gets better results (or giving it up as a bad loss and trying something new altogether )?

It’s kind of like the saying “To be successful, never quit”. Well no …. duh.

I think it depends on the momentum you have and the progress you’re making. If you simply stay in the business and either directly or indirectly are not seeing any results, then I think you need to do one of two things.

Either find a training system and a support team that will help you achieve your goals, or cut your losses and accept the fact that you need to become more educated before you commit yourself to a Network Marketing business.

I personally don’t believe that quitting altogether is the right answer – just take some time to educate yourself. If you’ve already opened your mind to the possibilities that Network Marketing can offer (personally and professionally), then you know it’s something worth pursing.

I believe if something can be accomplished by ONE person, there is no reason why another can’t do it to. When I was new in the industry, I had a LOT to learn, and made a ton of mistakes, but I was VERY persistent.

I did make some poor choices, and that was due to inexperience, and I did have to start OVER and OVER and OVER many times, but each tim I learned some valuable lessons that helped me get better and better and develop skills to finally get where I wanted to go.

I did have to learn to adjust, and keep on moving forward. I think of it as lessons. IF you went on a cross country road trip from Florida to Washington state and you drove for a few days, and got half way there, and ran into a road block or a bridge out, you would not quit and go back home. You’d find a way around or take a detour.

No different here. You don’t just fall on to the top of a mountain, you climb and get there step at a time. You may make mistakes along the way but you learn and get better and better.

It’s all part of learning.

The Law(s) of MLM Failure

April 10th, 2009

The Basic Laws are from the wisdom of John Counsel of Profit Clinic. The “interpretations” are from Eric Youle of MTex Pro.

So …. here are the too frequently experienced Law(s) of MLM Failure.

* Doing the wrong things for the right reasons.

Or … the Results justifies the means.

Here (as I see it) you are working the business in a way which you hate. You have been persuaded that some distasteful business method is the only way to go and you hate it. Although successful and satisfying your customer’s expectations – you are probably only in it for the money and can’t wait for the right opportunity to “get out”. Maybe burn yourself out ot burn up goodwill along the way.

You are losing while your customers/clients benefit.

A Lose – Win situation

Sounds rather like bringing (or adopting) First Generation business techniques.

* Doing the Right Things for the Wrong Reasons.

The odd concept … the Means Justify the Result

Here you are enjoying yourself working your business in a way that suites you, but your customers/clients don’t figure – you maybe have no business goals (other than to enjoy yourself) and your customers/clients get short shift.

A Win Lose situation – which is suggestive that the business is being treated as a HOBBY for your gratification.

* Doing the Wrong Things for the Wrong Reasons.

Lose – Lose

You don’t enjoy working your business, and are not getting any rewards, your customers/clients don’t get satisfaction from dealing with you so they don’t come back or recommend you – a recipe for a very short business life.

Maybe this has overtones of the employee mentality – I don’t have to like my job and its not real important if the customers get a good experience so long as I get paid.

The keys to success …. not failure?

Simply put …. don’t get caught doing the above!

Is An Exclusive MLM Lead Truly An Exclusive Lead?

April 8th, 2009

Does an Exclusive Lead mean that you are truly the only person receiving that lead?

The hopeful answer is: Sometimes!

The reality is: Probably Not.

Lets take a look at the many definitions or common categories that an Exclusive Lead can fall into:

Often times Exclusive means that you are only person in your particular company to receive that lead, but you still share the lead with several other people from competing companies.

Other times Exclusive means that your leads are exclusive for a short amount of time such as 3-7 days. After this timeframe, the Leads are sold several more times, often averaging 5-7 times.

Is it wrong for companies to do this? Absolutely not! Unless of course you are willing to spend 3 or 4 times the cost of the lead to truly get the exclusive rights to it. By selling a lead multiple times, it is the most cost effective way for a lead company to be able to get fresh leads into your hands at a price you can afford. It is only wrong if a lead company does not properly represent what you are purchasing.

Another variable you should keep in mind is that often, when people are looking for an income opportunity online, your prospect may not have just responded to one advertisement or filled out one form requesting information about a home business.

Many times people fill out multiple forms so they can compare different opportunities. You might have 3 different people thinking they have just purchased an exclusive lead only to find out later that the same person filled out 3 separate forms which went to 3 different people.

Did you compare different opportunities before you decided your current company was the right fit for you?

Just because you are not the only person contacting a lead, does not mean you will not have success. What it really boils down to is sorting through your lead list looking for the right people for your opportunity.

Not every opportunity is right for everyone. You might have just the opportunity they are looking for and you only spent .20 cents on the same lead that cost someone else who called them a week before you $4.00 or more.

Your Vision and The Company Culture

August 10th, 2008

I started a new blog recently to promote my involvement with Max International. Here’s a snip from a post I wrote yesterday about the importance of knowing why you would consider joining a company program and why I believe it’s important to base that decision, in part, on the values promoted by the company.

Your Max Impact Blog

Whether you desire to be your own boss, have financial freedom, greater control over your time, help others improve the quality of their lives, achieve better health, or …..(you fill in the blank); I have learned that all subsequent actions will be predicated on the strength of the vision you hold – your goals – your ambitions – your desires – your WHY.

I think an important consideration into such a decision should include whether the culture of the company you may partner with aligns with the vision you hold of your own success. Corporate leadership, founding principles, product strength and security, field leadership, company mission and ethics statements, fairness and potential profitability of the comp plan are several areas I believe should be evaluated before you deliver your dreams and goals for their stewardship.

Finding My Comfort Zone

July 30th, 2008

Had a great experience last night and one that I know was sorely needed.

Bo Short had flown into town as part of the Max Momentum Tour and we planned on having dinner together before the event. Due to some scheduling conflicts, we had to postpone our meal and met many of the local team leaders instead.

It has been a while since I have been very active in any business activities (as evident by my blog posting). I admit that I felt a bit anxious and uncomfortable having been out of circulation for so long.

As the presentation began, I found myself becoming more adjusted to environment. There was a 10-15 minute break after the opportunity was concluded. Bo Short spent about 45 minutes teaching several core concepts. We were treated to the time-tested “It’s Called Practice” method of cold contacting. (I have recently been working on editing a digital conversion.)

Afterwards, several members of the team gathered to ask some specific questions in an impromptu round table. I met several of the attendees and plan to attend future events despite not directly associated with this group.

The meeting broke up about 10:30pm and Bo and I were able to talk over a late dinner.

Despite my initial trepidation, I realize how badly I needed to get back into action and how much I love this business and the people associated with it.

The rest is here:

Can you spend time to save time?

March 11th, 2008

Sometimes people ask me how I achieved some of things I have. Or how I know about certain subject areas.

They seem to think its a particular action I’ve done or skill I have. A big step. But in reality it’s none of these. The real reason is quite simple.
